remember a couple months back

When I mentioned illinois had formed a committe to review the current child support laws? We'll I'mma break it down a little more. I'LL Is one of the only states that still has a stauatory percentage system for child support. They take your gross income and calculate your payment by a percentage based off the number of children. In CONTRAST most states with modern child support laws factor in the income of BOTH parents. So if the parents paying child support makes 20k a year and the person receiving child support makes 60k a year-thats taken into consideration. Also-subsequent children are taken into consideration. Right now my kids needs don't matter to child support because "first family comes first". Also time spent with each parent is factored and anything over 92 overnights with either parent is "shared physical custody". I think the system is going to be much better and much more fair. I'm excited. I'LL is using colorados statues as a base and under colorado law our c/s would go from well over 500 a month to 200. YAY.
